As a third-generation family business, Darwalla started producing chickens over 90+ years in Mt Cotton, with farms now located in the Redlands, on the Darling Downs and in the Lockyer Valley.

 

Safety is a priority of ours and we look after our people. 

 

About the Role ...

 

Join our friendly and supportive 6-person Feed Mill team, responsible for producing poultry feed across our operations.

This is a hands-on role involving:

  • Batching and operating plant equipment
  • Scheduling deliveries
  • Troubleshooting breakdowns
  • Assisting with repairs and maintenance

Based at our Mt Cotton site, you’ll report directly to the Feed Mill Manager.

 

Working Hours

  • Casual, 30 hours a week
  • Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work
  • Rotating morning and afternoon shifts
  • Afternoon shift starts at midday
  • Overtime required as part of operations (paid at double time)

This is a 24/7 industry, so flexibility is essential.

 

About you ...

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Current forklift licence
  • Confined space entry licence
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Hands-on, practical approach
  • Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Flexible attitude
  • Driver’s licence and reliable transport
  • Physical capability for manual tasks
