About the Role

The objective of the position is to assist with maintenance tasks on our Poultry Breeder Rearing & Production farms. The role requires travel to our farms located in the Southern Downs, 

 

Biosecurity is non-negotiable: you cannot have chickens, birds or pigs at home, nor can you live with others in your household who work with chickens, birds or pigs.  Please read the attached biosecurity declaration carefully, and ask if you are unsure.

 

Duties

  • Assist with a range of scheduled maintenance tasks across our farms
  • Repairing plant and equipment - call-outs may be required from time-to-time

Skills & Experience

  • Good communication skills
  • Be diligent and hard working
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and have a willingness to learn
  • Whilst a trade qualification is NOT essential, you must be able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and sound troubleshooting skills;
  • Sound ability to communicate effectively with your Managers and Supervisors, other team members and tradespeople 

What else do I need?

  • A genuine interest in working in a rural area;
  • The ability to look outside the square for solutions;
  • Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills 
  • A drivers license and your own transport;
  • Sound physical fitness, with the ability to work in dirty or dusty environments, work at heights, work in confined spaces, or work outside in all types of weather.
