About the Role

Darwalla is seeking applications for people who care about their job, to work alongside our experienced teams in our poultry farms, located between Warwick & Toowoomba, on the beautiful Southern Darling Downs. 

The successful candidates will be required to carry out a wide range of physical tasks including walking in sheds, egg collecting, egg grading & packing and cleaning sheds.  Full training is provided, so no experience is necessary, however a willingness to learn and work hard is essential.

Generally we work across 7 days/week. The number of hours per week may vary .Our farms are located in rural locations between Warwick & Toowoomba, plus out at Killarney & down at Laidley, so a driver's license and access to reliable transport is necessary.  

The poultry industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards, so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry and pigs and residing with others who work at other poultry or pig farming work sites.  Therefore, if you have poultry, birds or pigs kept at your house, I'm sorry but you cannot work for Darwalla.  Our farms are all shower-on & shower-off facilities to protect our birds from disease.  Our showers are hot and we supply towels, uniforms and all safety equipment.

About the Role ...

Join our friendly and supportive 6-person Feed Mill team, responsible for producing poultry feed across our operations.

This is a hands-on role involving:

• Batching and operating plant equipment
• Scheduling deliveries
• Troubleshooting breakdowns
• Assisting with repairs and maintenance

Based at our Mt Cotton site, you’ll report directly to the Feed Mill Manager.

Working Hours

• Casual, 30 hours a week
• Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work
• Rotating morning and afternoon shifts
• Afternoon shift starts at midday
• Overtime required as part of operations (paid at double time)

This is a 24/7 industry, so flexibility is essential.

About the Role ...

The Training & Development Officer will be responsible for supporting the operational teams to ensure the achievement of high-quality training and development outcomes.

This varied role will give you the opportunity to liaise with a range of departments within Darwalla to ensure that our training and development programs are based on the needs of the organisation and the individual. 

You will assist with researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and liaise and support external training providers, where appropriate.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience working in a similar role and have a solid understanding of vocational education requirements and blended learning techniques.

You will enjoy making a contribution as part of a small professional team, demonstrate initiative, as well as a high degree of professionalism in your work. You will also have strong attention to detail, well-developed communication skills and an ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders.

About you ...

• Demonstrated experience designing and evaluating training solutions and workplace assessment processes
• Delivering tailored adult training programs with multiple delivery techniques for a diverse organisation with competing strategic objectives.
• Proficient using Articulate Storyline 360, LMS (Litmos) and video creation and editing or similar systems
• Capable of developing digital Learning experiences and resources using Litmos LMS or similar authoring tool
• Demonstrated experience evaluating training and development effectiveness against organisational objectives, adapting delivery to stakeholder responses and to emerging learning technologies and new training methodologies.
• Developing Training plans, training documentation and monitoring and achieving compliance target
• Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with experience in multi-faceted stakeholder management and leading project teams or resources in a collaborative work culture.
• High level of computer literacy skill, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

 it will be advantageous if you have:

• Previous experience in a registered Training Organisation, including student administration, instructional development and e-learning database development and administration
• Qualifications in learning and development, education, organisational development, or equivalent demonstrated experience will be an advantageous
• Certificate IV in training and workplace Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent qualification with instructional design experience
• A current drivers licence, as travel to our operational sites is a requirement for this role to be successful
• Demonstrate, Rise 360, Peek 360 and Studio 360
• Microsoft Clipchamp
